Stanley McChrystal’s book Team of Teams is a modern masterpiece. In this book, he unpacks how management practices need to adapt to a complex world. In particular, he points out how command structures can’t adapt fast enough in response to complex systems. Consequently, he recommends that organizations develop “teams of teams.” This is not necessarily a new idea (see Katzenbach’s work). However, his experience is unique and the way he writes is accessible. The attached document highlights the summary points from the end of each chapter of his book.
